About Us

Since HallMark was established fourteen years ago, we have developed a uniquely qualified and trained workforce, almost entirely made up of vets, backed up by practical, user friendly new technology systems.

When we started fourteen years ago, we supplied vets for the meat hygiene service (now the FSA) - and we still do. However, our workforce of six in 2002, has grown to in excess of 150 in 2016 and their work encompasses a range of food and farming regulatory compliance needs – whether in abattoirs, on farm or in food sampling. In the time, we have successfully delivered in excess of 40 major public projects.

From the earliest days, the business was about the efficient mobilisation and management of large numbers of professional staff across the UK, sometimes at very short notice and in difficult circumstances. This went hand in hand with the development of practical, new IT solutions to deliver cost effective and efficient solutions for our clients.

At the outset, we took the view that offering our large team of vets and inspectors the opportunity to widen their skill base meant we could offer a more highly trained and flexible workforce to our clients and give our staff defined career paths as professional compliance officers. We know this has worked. We currently have a higher staff retention rate and significantly higher levels of staff satisfaction than our competitors.

Our people are motivated and keen to make a difference. This is good for our business and good for our clients too.

After our investment in people, investing in the ‘agile’ development of tailored IT systems is our top priority.

Too often the task has to fit the available technology. Our approach is systems that are 100% designed for the task by the people who really understand what is needed, in partnership with our clients – accessible, user-friendly and specific to the operational requirement.
