HallMark at FSADOC Stakeholder Engagement Days

HallMark Veterinary & Compliance Services is proud to announce our active participation in the recent FSADOC - Stakeholder Engagement Days held in York and London. These events, organised by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), were pivotal in shaping the future of food safety and standards in the UK, particularly in the Delivery of Official Controls (DOC) in the meat inspection services sector.

Engagement Day in London - 22nd November 2023

Our team attended the event at The Wesley Hotel, Euston House, London. The day was packed with insightful discussions and presentations, focusing on the upcoming tender processes, operational excellence, and the future of food safety standards in establishments such as abattoirs, cutting plants, co-located cold stores, and game handling establishments. Our participation underscores our commitment to staying at the forefront of industry developments and contributing to the evolution of food safety practices, particularly in the roles of Official Veterinarians and Official Auxiliaries (Meat Hygiene Inspectors).

Engagement Day in York - 15th November 2023

The York event at the Elmbank Hotel provided another excellent platform for dialogue and exchange. Our team engaged in meaningful discussions with FSA heads and other key stakeholders. The sessions offered a deep dive into the contracting options, evaluation criteria, and tender expectations, aligning closely with our mission to deliver top-notch veterinary and compliance services in the meat inspection sector.

Recommendations for Enhancing Market Competitiveness and Service Quality

During these events, we had the opportunity to provide our insights and recommendations regarding the FSA's proposed contracting options, evaluation criteria, and lotting strategies for the upcoming retendering of the FSADOC contract. We emphasised the importance of enhancing market competitiveness and service quality in FSA contracting, focusing on the pillars of Resilience, Retention, Recruitment, and Quality. Our suggestions aimed at reshaping the market landscape for the better, ensuring a tendering process that meets the FSA's operational needs while securing the long-term health and diversity of the supplier market. We eagerly anticipate these considerations being reflected in the final tender documents and are excited about the potential to contribute to the FSA's mission of ensuring safe and high-quality food standards.

A Call to Local Veterinary Practices to Collaborate in Official Controls

HallMark Veterinary & Compliance Services is reaching out to local veterinary practices across the UK, inviting them to collaborate in Official Controls. This initiative aims to strengthen food safety and animal welfare standards by integrating the expertise of British vets into our operations.

Why Local Vets?

 - Diverse Recruitment Pool: By partnering with local vets, we aim to reduce reliance on overseas recruitment, supporting the UK veterinary community.

 - Regulatory Compliance: In light of the RCVS's language requirements and the end of temporary registration, it's vital to engage more local practices in Official Controls.

 - Sustainable Model: Our approach promotes a sustainable and resilient veterinary service model, crucial for the industry's future.

Join Us in Shaping a Resilient Future

We believe in the power of local expertise and are committed to creating a collaborative environment where UK vets can thrive and contribute significantly to public health and food safety. Local veterinary practices interested in this opportunity are encouraged to contact us for more information.

Our Commitment to Industry Excellence

At HallMark Veterinary & Compliance Services, we are dedicated to enhancing food safety and animal welfare standards. Our participation in these significant events is part of our ongoing effort to collaborate with industry leaders, stay updated with regulatory changes, and bring innovative solutions to the table.
